LOS ANGELES – Firefighters Saturday knocked down a greater-alarm structure fire at a two-story church in Watts that began as an outside vegetation fire and extended into the basement of the structure, authorities said.
The 76 firefighters dispatched at 11:20 a.m. to 1715 S. Santa Ana Blvd. had the blaze out within 49 minutes, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
