COMPTON – Compton officials will be asked to approve two resolutions to put a special election on the Nov. 8 ballot during the regular city council meeting scheduled for July 26.
The resolutions seek to reduce the number of required meetings held per month and to eliminate a primary election and change the dates of the general election.
The council currently meets four times a month and are dark the entire month of August.
Compton voters will also be asked to consider another school bond to address facility issues Nov. 8.

It is important that Compton Residents write the County Voter Register and let them know that the unincorporated areas of the City of Compton DO NOT vote in Compton elections. This is how Measure P passed. Compton residents did not want it. Too much of the outside impacts our community
This is the most ridiculous request. Really? To change the election, why? For what reason? Also,this council cannot even accomplish critical issues in 4 meetings, how will reducing to two help? It’s asinine to even request this. VOTE 👎🏾
They don’t do what the people ask anyway. They do as they please even if the residence say no
