For the Love of Money is the root of all manufactured hate against Sheriff Villanueva

Dear 2UrbanGirls,

Haven’t I said it all along?

In fact if anybody had been paying attention all along with this false narrative of this ” rogue” Sheriff that currently occupies the seat of Sheriff for Los Angeles County that this same Sheriff, that being Alex Villanueva has accused the same conspirators of these tall tales of excessive abuse of taxpayers’ dollars and the creation and exploitation of Los Angeles County most poor and vulnerable residents , usually those of black and brown heritage , in which the late great Dr. Martin Luther King Jr referred to in his ” Letter from Birmingham jail” people he described these people lost beyond hope , resigned to a life of despair and sense of nothingness and it was in this moment of time sensing desperation and urgency at that moment that he had determined that for the greater cause he would commit to nonviolent protest even to the point of imprisonment because he determined the elected leaders and those who were committed to the cause became insensitive to the needs of the masses while making a profit.

Once again the Sheriff was right and like  a Broadway musical has set the stage for the grand finale where all along he painted a picture in broad strokes , more like abstract art as the Sheriff has masterfully and consistently laid out his case that the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors that has served more as obstructionist with ulterior motives to seize and protect their ” pot of gold” at the end of the proverbial rainbow and now we have proof in the scathing report released by HUD severely criticizing the Los Angeles Housing Services for not spending allocated funds in a timely manner systematic of the clandestine , mythical ” Homeless Industrial Complex” in which according to urban legend can be very prosperous and profitable to those innovative and ambitious enough to perform ” the lords work while financing their luxury lifestyle.

2urbangirls in all due fairness I don’t want to go above and beyond what the HUD report says about LAHSA but according to your reporting and deciphering of language used in the report it appears that mismanagement of funds , unwillingness or inability to explain use of funds a chronic problem that has appears to be standard practice and par for the course in which Los Angeles who has chronically struggled with housing their homeless for decades , manifested and evolved into what many experts have likened the conditions to a third world country only to be exasperated by the COVID pandemic and as a result , exposed elected officials inability to appropriately respond to a burgeoning crisis that for all intents and purposes of this letter will only evolve even worse rendering Los Angeles County lawless if we in fact haven’t reached that point yet.

So here we are and for those with dead set intentions to oppose the Sheriff I ask consider maybe just maybe there’s another plausible side to the story and his vision for the Los Angeles County, Sheriff’s office and Day to on Day leadership which can be readily found online despite these unfounded and unsupported claims of lack of transparency that with little effort

In fact ultimately at end of the day , Alex Villanueva was and never the ” establishment” guy in a sense that his surprising election as Sheriff broke the ” Democratic” cheat code in which the Sheriff broke all the hidden rules and avoided all the pitfalls despite the preset safeguards and machinations that is readily not known to the general public and despite Villanueva’s previous successor not creating any policies to address deputy cliques/gangs/subgroups or whatever they calling them today, the public is smart enough to see through this charade.

Jim McDonnell was a well-documented failure to reform LASD it appears that the Board of Supervisors and the political establishment supported his re- election despite his ineptitude preferred him over Villanueva the unknown and what makes the unknown even dangerous in Villanueva case that a Sheriff deputy Latino at the rank of Sargent who ran an improbable campaign to win not only one of the most prestigious law enforcement jobs in the country but successfully defend himself against a well-funded political establishment led by former criminally indicted Board of Supervisor member Mark Ridley Thomas.

The same media that slammed that melee in MacArthur Park, where journalists were attacked, on camera, no one attached McDonnell as he was the 2nd in command under Bill Bratton when it happened.  Oh, and he was about to be placed on that “blue ribbon” commission the BOS needed to create the oversight commission and ultimately achieve subpoena authority.

McDonnell played ball and got rewarded with an easy victory over Tanaka.  When he had to run on the merits of his own work, he was defeated.

In closing with all that said I ask you the reader to play along with me because if we’re to apply the same investigatory standards as to these allegations against the Sheriff and his department , shouldn’t we apply the same standard as it applies to the Sheriff to do so otherwise would serve as injustice to the Sheriff and future Sheriff’s after Villanueva whose office can be commandeered for political sport or simply not bucking to the will of the majority of Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors even though their philosophy and political agenda tests well with donors  and political action committees while at the same time compromising the safety of the general public.

Let’s face it ” Defund the Police” and all these cute terms like reimagining law enforcement sounds cute and plays well politically I guess but in practicality it’s unenforceable and in the midst of all this madness it appears that the George Gascon and the politicians have left the gate to the asylum open because 6 million-dollar mansions purchased off the pain and suffering of folks beyond hope and desperation doesn’t purchase themselves.
