Dear 2urbangirls,
This isn’t going to end well. In fact this was never going to end well.
It’s Villanueva versus the establishment and at the end of the day he will be re-elected despite the attempts of the LA Times and his opponents colluding to smear his name.
Did I really just read a deputy filed a claim admitting to waiting an entire work week, FIVE DAYS, to report the “knee incident” to the Sheriff? Now he’s to blame?
Max Huntsman had this in his possession for who knows how long, but conveniently waits to drop the visuals the day after Villanueva announced his campaign re-election?
The powers that be don’t want an independent Sheriff who has the authority to investigate them.
Peace Over Violence, done. Contract appears to be gone and Metro has a new phone based app to report “assault” on the train.
Mark Ridley-Thomas, done. My man was just indicted on 21 counts.
The problem is the LA Times tends to benefit from corrupt politicians. Don’t forget their taking over $300,000 in Inglewood taxpayer dollars to puff up. Mayor Butts deflated chest, just so he can go to community meetings and tell unsuspecting residents to “google the Inglewood Renaissance”, while the TIMES mysteriously continues to ignore reporting on the lawsuit filed by Wanda Brown.
You see, these politicians only stay relevant through coordinated “marketing campaigns” pulled off by local newspapers desperate for ad revenue to stay afloat.
Sheriff Villanueva has strategically cemented himself as a force to be reckoned with for year’s to come should he chooses to.
The handwriting is literally on the wall and we need more from our elected officials and the failed publicity stunt by beloved U.S. Congresswoman Maxine Waters or as we affectionately call her “Auntie Maxine” and the Section 8 voucher giveaway debacle solidifies even more what Sheriff Alex Villanueva has said about these politicians being driven by personal ambition (self enrichment) and as long as the LA Times can benefit from a check, they are Ray Charles to the bullcrap.
Clearly they are deaf when you have a long-time well respected congresswoman known for “taking care of her people” (whatever that ambiguous folk lore means) telling a group of homeless people to “go home” because her office set up a bogus Section 8 voucher giveaway and when it got exposed she went as far to threaten a Los Angeles Times reporter not to expose the charade. Then they printed it. Apparently verbatim.
Isn’t HUD looking into CDBG shenanigans in her district (Inglewood)?
Should we be surprised? No, but we collectively as a community can no longer afford to extend this common good will to politicians whom look like us but clearly have abandoned us like sheep thrown to the wolves.
2UrbanGirls this isn’t a o point fingers but a genuine plea to politicians to end these scripted acts of public service and these fabricated attacks against Sheriff Villanueva, and follow his lead because folks like me, and who look like me, are being ignored by the folks who have seemingly been feasting off the backs of poor black and brown people for decades.
