INGLEWOOD – Inglewood residents continue to submit petitions in support of opting out of a citywide permit parking plan that was not properly rolled out.
With six years to prepare, the City failed to implement the program in stages, in order to have time to outreach to the community and obtain the necessary signage for enforcement.
The Hollywood Park agreement calls for THEM to pay the costs of implementing the program.
Residents are aware of the issues with the program after parking commissioners told residents they had no input in the manner. The City has yet to fully install the signage, and in a move timed with upcoming November elections, residents in District 2 have been excluded from the program, while District 1 residents haven’t seen many up.
Mayor Butts is on thin ice with the manner residents were ignored after signing petitions in early 2015 to put the NFL stadium on the ballot.
Dionne Faulk has yet to appoint a District 4 representative despite the majority of the complaints are originating in her district.
Narcotics Lieutenant David Salcedo is now the police department representative assisting staff, despite receiving a $4 million wrongful termination settlement from the City of Baldwin Park after less than 60 days on the job.
