WILLOWBROOK – Two people killed in a shooting in the unincorporated Willowbrook area — including a 17-year-old boy — were identified Monday, while sheriff’s investigators continued efforts to determine what led to the gunfire.

Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell has yet to comment on this mass shooting that occurred in her district. Mitchell continues to appear “unfazed” by the dramatic increase in crime, residents see in real time through social media and news reports.

Devin Pugh, 17, of Downey, and Timothy Ford Sr., 40, of Moreno Valley in Riverside County, died at the scene of the shooting, which occurred about 3 p.m. Sunday in the 12200 block of Blakley Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office and the sheriff’s department.

Five other people were hit by gunfire and were taken to hospitals. A man in his 50s and three men in their 40s were taken to hospitals by paramedics, Deputy Tracy Koerner said. A woman in her 40s took herself to a hospital. All wounds were believed not life-threatening.

A motive for the shootings was unknown. Video from the scene showed dozens of shell casings scattered in the area, and witnesses described hearing multiple bursts of gunshots.

No suspect descriptions were available.

Anyone with information on the attack was asked to call the LASD’s homicide bureau at 323-890-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 800- 222-TIPS (8477).
