There’s a saying better late than never and with it looking like Tina McKinnor will be our next assembly member, she has chosen a side and decided to stand with the community in saving Warren Lane Elementary School.
2UrbanGirls my question is, how did we get here?
Could it be the questions that your blog asked in your post election roundup that got her attention?
Well apparently something worked because all across my social feed today I saw Tina McKinnor’s campaign making a concerted effort to let the Inglewood community know that she stands with us in saving Warren Lane.
She made her Maxine Waters like appearance to show her solidarity with the Inglewood community, contrary to her safe position of utter and complete silence regarding the debacle going on at IUSD during the primary elections to replace former Burke.
For nearly a decade, McKinnor was in a position, some may argue as the former District Director for outgoing Burke and Steve Bradford, she’s a long time respected political operative , where one could ask or even reasonably argue if she could have said or done more.
2UrbanGirls they say never look a gift horse in the mouth and maybe Tina McKinnor’s new found “Coming to Jesus” moment of coming to the aid of Inglewood Unified School District rescue is a blessing in disguise.
Or as the old folks say “In God’s timing”, but I would be remiss not to ponder Ms. Mckinnor’s sudden ” epiphany” was the traditional calculation of a political strategist coming in second in a primary race and decided that standing with the Inglewood community (in appearance) is worth the risk because ultimately the reward of being elected to the California State Assembly, in Ms. Mckinnor’s case, has seemingly always been so close and yet so far.
So here we are 2UrbanGirls, I’m intrigued how this will play out. I’m eagerly anticipating a response from Robert Pullien-Miles.. It should be noted he is also a long time Autumn Burke employee.
Well whatever the case is 2UrbanGirls I’d be foolish to believe journalism doesn’t matter, but it seems that your coverage of IUSD has given quite a few moments of epiphanies and ” Coming to Jesus” moments because the steamroller that was headed for IUSD has lost quite a lot of steam and momentum.
