LONG BEACH – A man was hospitalized after he was shot multiple times on a Long Beach street, authorities said Saturday.
The shooting occurred at about 10:15 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of East 47th Street, according to Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman Allison Gallagher.

Responding officers found the man suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper and lower body, Gallagher said.
Paramedics took him to a hospital for treatment of the wounds, which were not believed to be life-threatening, she said.
“Preliminary investigation indicates the victim was outside when he was approached by an unknown number of suspects and shot,” Gallagher said. “The suspect(s) fled the area prior to officers’ arrival.”
Officers found shell casings and strike marks on a nearby residence, she said. Gang detectives were investigating.
