LOS ANGELES – LAX Chief Cecil Rhambo has joined the race to become the next Sheriff of Los Angeles County. Prior to becoming the chief of one of the nation’s busiest airports, he served as the City Manager of Compton. He announced his resignation after the 2019 election of Michelle Chambers, who he partly blamed for his departure.
Rhambo wrote a scathing three-page letter detailing the mistreatment he allegedly received from Chambers and her former council liaison Andre “Hub City Dre” Spicer, who made scurrilous allegations against him on a podcast.

All must be well between Rhambo and Chambers since she is now listed on his endorsement page.
He announced her endorsement Nov. 30, along with members of the Compton Unified School board, and had this to say:
“I’m deeply grateful for the support from these trusted local officials in our county. Their backing is a testament to the fact that leaders across LA County understand the critical crossroads that the LA Sheriff’s Department is at, and believe in our movement to confront deputy gangs, combat the corruption and enhance accountability and transparency at LASD. I look forward to continuing to earn the support of community leaders across LA County in the weeks and months ahead.”
Why would he accept her endorsement if she’s supposedly the reason he departed his job?
