Hydee Feldstein Soto Campaign Receives Major Endorsements

The endorsements represent growing support for Feldstein Soto, a candidate in the 2022 election for Los Angeles City Attorney.

LOS ANGELES – The Chicano Latino Immigrant Democratic Club of Los Angeles, the National Women’s Political Caucus (NWPC), and the National Steelframers Industry Association this week announced their endorsements of Hydee Feldstein Soto, a candidate for Los Angeles City Attorney. The endorsements reflect strong momentum behind Feldstein Soto’s campaign.

Feldstein Soto earned the sole endorsement from NWPC, considered one of the most impactful organizations among women voters in Los Angeles.

“Hydee has a strong record of empowering women and standing up for equality in the workplace. She will be a force for change as City Attorney and her experience and leadership mean that she’s ready for the job,” said Linda Wah, Chair of the LA County Coordinating Council for the NWPC.

By unanimous vote, Feldstein Soto also earned the sole endorsement from the Chicano Latino Immigrant Democratic Club, which provides a crucial platform to advance Chicano and Latino leadership across California. Born and raised in Puerto Rico with Spanish as her first language, Feldstein Soto would be the first Latina elected to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office.

“Hydee Feldstein Soto is one of our community’s strongest advocates and electing her would be a milestone for the Los Angeles Latino community,” said Martin Cruz, President of the Chicano Latino Immigrant Democratic Club of Los Angeles County. “We are confident that with Hydee as City Attorney, we will make progress with regards to protecting the rights of all, including immigrants, workers, tenants, and other key constituencies.”

Feldstein Soto’s endorsement from the National Steelframers Industry Association represents strong support for her campaign across the construction industry, from equipment manufacturers and engineers to homebuilders and framing contractors.

“We all recognize that there are a number of challenges facing the city, including homelessness, creaking infrastructure, public safety, the dangers inherent in a 12- month fire season and accompanying needs to provide safe places for residents to live,” said Larry Williams, Executive Director of the National Steelframers Industry Association. “We believe Hydee Feldstein Soto brings the integrity, experience, and determination that is needed to face down these daunting challenges, and we look forward to working with her to help ensure a bright, dynamic future for the City of Los Angeles.”

The endorsements add to a growing list of support for Feldstein Soto, including from former Congresswoman Katie Hill and President of the Chicano Latino Caucus of the California Democratic Party Carlos Alcala.

About Hydee Feldstein Soto:

Hydee spent her career overcoming institutional hurdles to become one of the country’s most respected attorneys, known for her no-nonsense and can-do approach to finding innovative solutions to difficult problems. She is a proven community leader and a strong voice on issues that matter to voters. She has decades of experience leading and managing other attorneys, facilitating multi-billion-dollar transactions—larger than the annual budget of Los Angeles—and solving complex legal issues. Hydee has proudly called Los Angeles home for 40 years.
