Please everyone participate Federal law requires these meetings are conducted so that residents have input …so give it DO NOT LET THE COUNCIL SAY THEY KNOW WHAT YOU WANTED !!
Consider how the two mega transit project meetings occur in the shadows with developers wants and presence without significant notice to community DO NOT LET THE FAVORED DEVELOPERS RAILROAD OUR COMMUNITY!!!!
“The city” has a dismal track record of how it spends money so no “the city” should not be spending money on any housing….not to mention the complete lack of wisdom in approving plans for senior buildings as in no grab bars serious dependence on elevators and unrealistic ability of the number of people who can make it to a staircase in case of emergency. This Administration is, simply put, wasteful which does not mean there should not be affordable housing but rather this group should not be involved ..anything they are involved in becomes outrageously costly and based on developer wants (low cost them with high cost to taxpayers for decades to come) as an example consider the salaries of this community’s employees seeTransparent California and the long term pension costs which appear on HOMEOWNER Property-tax bills.
Do we even need to open that can of worms that the Mayor said there would be no traffic issues as a results of the 100,000 seat stadium.???? What it seems the council and their contributors (developers) want (our $$$ to benefit developers) can be pitched in many ways. Please don’t let a 10% set aside for low-mod income persuade you that this is an effort to assist with “affordable” housing. To many wealthy a $3,000.00 seat to watch one football game is “affordable” but most of our community struggles with that amount to pay rent for the entire month. “Affordable to some is not foldable to all !!!!”
Need a more timely example of perhaps unwise spending —- did we forget the $75,000.00 spent for the artificial Christmas Tree? yes ! $75,000.00 plus storage and set-up fees. Is there nothing more important than a few week photo op which our money should have been spent on.??
…the end result of “AFFORDABLE HOUSING” should not mean wasted dollars (political payback, and oops we didn’t think that through adventures )… consider the senior center and the non-ease of access for the “surprise?”…many seniors need walkers or wheelchairs. .. not to mention anyone shorter than 6 feet has trouble seeing the wonder what it is display wall…..that was a serious long term money pit that fails to meet serious needs of our collective elderly.
Do we really want this council and this planning commission or planning department in charge of anything else? Clearly our thoughts need to go on record !!
Please remember many died for our right to free speech in how our government is run …..we have the right to vote and to participate in the decision process. The mayor should control no voice but his own.
If he turns off the microphone or ends the broadcast use your pen or computer and let Congress and maybe a news agency or two
know.
Public Hearing 12/7 @ 2pm on the TOD plans.
