LOS ANGELES, CA — Continuing to earn unmatched support in the race for LA County Sheriff, LAX Police Chief Cecil Rhambo today earned the endorsement of Rick Chavez Zbur, the former Executive Director of Equality California and past President of the California League of Conservation Voters.
“I’m excited to endorse Cecil Rhambo for LA County Sheriff because he’s committed to reforming the Sheriff’s Department while putting equity, transparency and public safety first. I admire that during his time in the Sheriff’s Department, Chief Rhambo made an impact as someone who stood up against corruption, helped increase police accountability, and implemented community-oriented policing. I’m confident that Cecil’s experience and vision make him the best person to bring the change we need to the LASD.”
As Chief of Airport Police, Rhambo leads the nation’s largest dedicated airport public safety force. Rhambo also served as City Manager of the City of Compton from 2017 through July 2019 and Assistant City Manager of the City of Carson from 2014 to 2017.
