Letter to the Editor: Inglewood needs term limits NOW

Good morning 2UrbanGirls,

Thank you for alerting us about the proposed zoning changes which will affect many of our homes and the small businesses.  I am happy that today’s planning commission meeting has been postponed to October 6, but that is not enough.

It is clear that Mayor Butts and this council are dead set on keeping Inglewood residents in the dark about important matters.

First we were unable to vote on the NFL stadium, we are now being made to pay to park in front of our own homes, parking enforcement is unavailable to enforce SoFi stadium attendees from taking up our parking, and the latest shooting on Sunday afternoon paints a grim reality that our police department is severely understaffed.

Mayor Butts is causing taxpayers a lot of money with the countless number of lawsuits attached to him: sleeping with subordinantes, nearly killing people in a city owned vehicle, and the blatant mistreatment of our long-term treasurer, is an embarrassment.  Gil Mathieu does a good job of keeping up with the disappearance of tax dollars for “legal” fees.  Oh, and let’s not forget the massive debt we are in.

Residents are TIRED of living under the Butts dictatorship and we need to start a petition, NOW, to implement term limits, since our current elected’s are tone deaf to our issues.  You wrote mentioned the City Clerk is getting a pay raise, will that create an obstacle to a petition moving forward?
