This is a community alert! Inglewood residents will be asked to vote on raising certain taxes on November 2, 2021.
The city is declaring a fiscal emergency during the August 3, 2021, regular city council meeting.
The city has a current $12 million deficit, and projects a deficit for the next FIVE years!
You will be able to watch the August 3 city council meeting on Channel 36, or on Facebook OR you can attend IN PERSON at the Library to give public comment on the matter.
Voters will be asked to vote to raise the Real Estate Transfer Tax (which is only paid when you sell your property and it’s included in the closing costs) and raise the Transient Occupancy Tax from 14% to 15.5% for guest staying in either a hotel or motel within the city limits.
Arguments either for or against the proposed tax measures are due to the City Clerk’s office by 5:00 p.m. August 13, 2021, and shall not exceed 300 words in length.

Anyone wonder why we are having a financial emergency?
Here’s the news flash:
Giving the city clerk an extra $15,600 INCREASE to do less is nothing more than irresponsible
Yep the Inglewood median household income per uscensus is $54,000. And we are paying the clerk, one person, with no advance degree specialty over $100,000.00 in salary .
What is the increase for saying “thank you, mr butts” multiple times per meeting.
she got that raise to fix the upcoming elections.
Wow we get to pay more – are listened to less.
Our services are cut – their friends get more.
By law they must allow our comments. To limit us to 300 words tells me we should limit their term in office
How dare they project a loss . Mr Walmart’s wonder stadium was supposed to save the city.
The Billionaires should pay more -we should pay less.
We are loosing access to our homes and we get to breathe air pollution they bring to our community.
Local Citizens,
Spread the word. No more fucking taxes for anything, For anyone. For any causes.
We been paying higher prices up the ass (gas, food, rent).
It is always about the spending. Sick and tired of being sick and tired.
