Central Basin Director Leticia Vasquez-Wilson was censured by her colleagues on May 24. This action follows a lawsuit filed against Vasquez for making what the agency calls “libelous” statements in a YouTube video.
The resolution to censure details Vasquez using the district’s name without permission, in various videos attacking various cities served by the agency, and using the agency letterhead to send letters to cities as a matter of “ratifying” the claims contained in them.
The water agency continues to investigate alleged contracts for work related to SB 625 after a consultant submitted an invoice for payment totalling $21,000 for 245 hours of work which she described as a “labor of love”, at the alleged direction of Vasquez.
