Although it is important to highlight sexual allegations being brought against Mayor Butts, that taxpayers could be on the hook for, you would be doing Inglewood residents far greater service by focusing on the Inglewood Transit Connector project, that the city still doesn’t have the funding for.
Your blog is the only one, that I am aware of, that brought it to the residents attention the city was planning to tax the residents through a special tax to pay for it. Your blog is the reason the item stalled at the Los Angeles Local Agency Formation Commission (LALAFCO).
Why isn’t the city asking Stan Kroenke, Steve Ballmer, or Dean Spanos for the money? Better yet, WHERE IS THE 2028 OLYMPICS COMMITTEE on this since the REAL purpose of the project is for THEM?
To my understanding Mayor Butts is hand selecting businesses as “cheerleaders” for the project knowing they won’t oppose for sake of losing favor (money and commission seats) for going against him. Call them. They will tell you.
Businesses are upset there is no programs being established to assist them during construction, and that is problematic on so many levels. Think about how Metro had to hustle and get a program in place for the businesses on Crenshaw impacted by the Crenshaw Rail line. Many didn’t receive compensation because they had no financial records. Where is the outreach to businesses to ensure they have their financial books in order to prove loss of revenue?
PLEASE make this issue your TOP PRIORITY. Butts’ sexual escapades can wait. Based on the comments on your social media posts people don’t care who he is sleeping with, but they will be concerned about their property taxes being possibly raised to fund this project that has nothing to do with them. It’s for the SOLE benefit of the Olympics. We REALLY liked your comparison to the monorail in Las Vegas.
There is a reason they are not responding to your emails asking them how they are going to pay for this.
Stay well and FOCUSED please,
