A former Inglewood Unified employee filed a whistleblower lawsuit against the district, and embattled former principal Kyle Douglas, who stands accused of stealing $57,000 in funds related to an unauthorized parking contract. The TIMES detailed a revolving door of administrators, since the state takeover in 2012, shows no signs of recovery for the district which continues to hemorrhage students.
2UrbanGirls has obtained a lawsuit filed in September 2017, alleging corruption within Inglewood High School, that was ignored by then state administrator Vincent Matthews Ed.D.
Lisa Edwards details speaking to several administrators, between 2015 and 2017, detailing alleged unlawful activities coupled with obscene sexual innuendo being levied against her by Douglas. Edwards lawsuit details she complained to Dr. Reginald Sirls, Kenneth Wheeler, Nora Roque and Vincent Matthews who all turned a blind eye to allegations of usurping funds intended for the education of Inglewood students.
Where they aware of Douglas’ pilfering of school funds? Edwards case settled in late 2018.
Vincent abruptly resigned from IUSD in early 2017, leaving for San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD), where he announced his plans to retire on March 10. His last day with SFUSD will be June 30.
Inglewood Unified has long been rumored to be a piggy bank for unscrupulous board members and staff. There has been a mass exodus of school district personnel, and board members D’artagnan Scorza and Dionne Faulk, months before formal charges were brought against Douglas.
Douglas now stands accused of running an illegal parking operation, at IHS, when residents cried foul that Madison Square Garden was using Inglewood Park Cemetery as an overflow parking lot.
2UrbanGirls reviewed school board agendas for the month of May 2017 and found no board agenda items related to parking agreements for overflow parking for the Forum, despite Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts proclaiming IUSD as a partner providing the service.
Is corruption the root of Inglewood Unified School District’s problems and not declining enrollment?
**update**
Kyle Douglas plead guilty to three felony counts of misappropriation of public funds Jan. 21.

Corruption seems to be the norm! Those who know of wrong doing refuse to do anything about wrong . Cressida -Green Washington Davis is but one example of unqualified being handsomely rewarded across the friend and family elected network SEE JOSE FERNANDEZ CENTINELA SCHOOL DISTRICT. The corrupt have their fan clubs, who protect, run interference, destroy documents for, and enable continuous wrong doing. Consider: the false address issues of Board members , the suspension of Law License of Thomasina Reed, the stolen textbook scandal that the Boardmembers refused to act on until Nothern California Police got involved or ask why there has NEVER been a full accounting of the Measure K. $133,000,000.00 Bond money and the matching Federal and State funds?.
The education of Inglewood’s children has, in the last thirty years., often taken back burner to awarding expensive contracts to favored friends, or employing unqualified relative.
