Transportation consultant gives bias presentation on alleged resident support of transit connector

Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts Jr. continues to hand select his supporters to speak on behalf of the city’s 100,000 residents to push projects he is scared we will reject.  The latest project being rammed down our threat is a transit connector that the city has entertained taxing residents to pay for.  The transit connector is a key component in mitigating environmental and traffic concerns related to the proposed Clippers arena.

The Inglewood city council approved the projects environmental impact report last summer, which was described as “the most extensive environmental study ever completed by the city”. Gov. Gavin Newsom, who will most likely be recalled, certified the project will not result in any net additional greenhouse gas emissions and achieve other environmental standards, including reaching the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design’s gold status.

Asm. Sydney Kamlager-Dove made her only appearance in the city of Inglewood to push legislation through on behalf of the project, and Inglewood residents haven’t seen or heard of her since that fateful announcement in June 2018.

Lisa Trifiletti, owner of Trifiletti Consulting (TC), has refused to respond to residents inquiries into the project, as the lead agency designed with performing community outreach on the topic.  During the city’s regular city council meeting held February 23, she presented disingenuous information to the council stating the public supported the project.

Neither the city nor Trifiletti EVER publicized alleged community meetings on the transit connector.  Slide presentations detail that presentations were given to a select audience made up of individuals Mayor Butts has either made a city commissioner, placed on the Inglewood Chamber Board, helm block clubs or need building permits, were invited to pledge their support of the project or risk retaliation, as Butts is widely known for.

TC claimed to have received 80 letters of support, however, she stated they weren’t available at the time of her presentation.

2UrbanGirls reached out to the board of directors at Briarwood, Carlton Square, Renaissance who all declined to comment on when presentations were made to their residents.  The local businesses are all connected to Mayor Butts, in some manner, and the LAX Coastal Chamber doesn’t have a single minority on its staff or leadership team, who are supporting decisions that impact a largely minority community.  Union support was a no-brainer since they will be seeking agreements to perform the construction.

Mayor Butts continues to deprive the residents of the opportunity to voice their opinions on projects, that will directly impact both our quality of life and finances, for the sake of turning our small city into a so called “destination city”.
