Dear 2UrbanGirls,
This ran in today’s LA TImes. Attached is a letter of her defensive reaction to Nury Martinez and the L.A. City Council for looking into harassment allegations at Metropolitan Water District.
Gloria Gray stands on the side of management and protects perpetrators at Metropolitan and West Basin water districts. She voted to give West Basin General Manager Patrick Sheilds three more years at $300K per year who has documented sexual harassment settlements in the past. She removed Met directors who disagreed with her about investigations.
She’s looking to jump under the pressure and is considering a run for Dotson’s Inglewood council seat or get appointed by Mayor Butts who has been her strongest ally, but then again, isn’t he facing a lawsuit for allegedly sexually harassing his girlfriend/ex-aide, after she broke up with him?
Gloria wants to be one of the “good old boys” so bad and it shows.
Here’s a picture of Gloria Gray and Patrick Sheilds. Also check out this letter she sent to the LA Council President. Some nerve.

Your known by the company you keep. Gloria Gray is Inglewood’s Ted Cruz.
If you listen to recordings of the meetings Gray is talking about you’ll find:
1. Gray received a complaint, in writing, directly from one of the women who has come forward, and sat on it for almost two years.
2. The “committee” didn’t call for a swift review. Directors Trevino, Ortega and Ballin called for a swift review with the rest of the Board following suit. Directors Trevino and Ortega have since been replaced…in the middle of their terms.
3. Amongst all the crowing about having policies and online training, it’s pretty clear the behavior of retaliation and harassment has not changed.
Maybe it’s because this behavior starts at the top.
