Dear 2UrbanGirls,
We work inside of City Hall and wanted to share some things with you in an effort to alert members of the city council.
There is a persistent issue with city documents going missing related to the development deals related to property owned by the Successor Agency. Simple questions like “where is the money being deposited” go unanswered.
Questions about “why aren’t developers doing more to enhance the city’s infrastructure (parks, rodeways, water and sewer lines” go unanswered.
With the amount of new residents coming into the City, shouldn’t we see more enhancements in our Fire Department?
As you suggested, we have looked at the campaign funds going to our elected officials and it appears they are taking money for themselves, instead of having developers enter into community benefit agreements to benefit the residents.
The City is attempting to manipulate the city manager search to bring in their preferred candidate, Jerry Groomes, however, if you look at his time serving, many of the issues cited in the state auditor’s report, weren’t addressed by him, or any of his predecessors.
Craig Cornwell has filed a claim against the City, yet, he didn’t address the city’s audit issues either, but believe he was “entitled” to a new contract? Based on what exactly?
Do you see the pattern? We keep bringing in people who keep Compton as the #1 city for dysfunction out of 450 in the state?
The Controller’s office doesn’t have access to critical documents because the city manager’s office is either blocking its release or has possibly shredded them.
Cornwell’s sole job was to keep the auditor’s from getting information, any brand new outsider would be doing what we just saw in New Mexico. They would be filing complaints with the district attorney’s office for embezzlement of public funds.
You can’t even get a straight answer as to who sets the council agendas. Watch Tuesday’s city council meeting, and we will follow up with you afterwards.
In solidarity,
Compton Insiders
**update**
Assistant Compton City Manager Michael Antwine has tendered his resignation effective mid-April 2022. According to city council meeting, he was heavily involved in negotiations related to properties formerly owned by the city’s redevelopment agency.

Can someone verify that Corndick is actually suing the city cause they didn’t renew/extend his contract? These niggas ain’t got no fucking shame!!
It appears that I am not the only one who believes Cornwell is responsible for many of Compton’s recent problems
