Former Inglewood officer becomes interim Police Chief at Inglewood Unified School District

Former Inglewood Police Captain Martin Sissac has returned to the City as Interim Police Chief of Inglewood Unified School District.

Sissac retired from Fontana Unified School District in late 2019, and then began teaching career technical courses (CTE) at Los Angeles Unified School District.

He then became project development manager for the form Smyer-Sissac LLC specializing in building affordable homes.

According to IPD insiders, Sissac and Mayor James Butts began to “butt” heads shortly after the departure of them Police Chief Jacqueline Seabrooks.

On July 16, 2013, the City entered into an agreement with IUSD to contract administrative services from IPD, and Marty was assigned that post.

Inglewood Unified has yet to publicly announce Sissac’s hiring.
