2UrbanGirls has learned that another construction worker has died at the Hollywood Park construction site in the early morning of December 16.
Luis Escobar, 34, was identified by the LA County Medical Examiners office as the victim.
The Inglewood resident was reportedly crushed to death, by a crane, while working on the retail portion of the site near the Century/Prairie intersection. Escobar was a member of Ironworkers Local 433.
“It is with a very heavy heart that we announce that we lost a very dear brother today. May Luis Escobar book # 1535049 Rest In Peace,” said the union in a Facebook post the day of the accident.
Escobar is the third construction worker to die on the job.
Juan Becerra fell to his death this summer Fabritec Structures LLC and ZD Inspections LLC received a combined five citations earlier this month with total proposed penalties of more than $54,000 due to the death of Becerra.
Simon Fite was the 2nd construction worker to die at the site. He perished on the roof of SoFi Stadium with the coroner attributing his death to cocaine intoxication.

At the urging of Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts Jr. construction workers were deemed essential jobs and exempt from stay home orders at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
