Dear 2UrbanGirls,
The city is informing vendors that if they want to do business in the city of Inglewood they have to first pay $300 to join the Inglewood Airport Area Chamber of Commerce (IAACC). Joining allows you to be put on a special “list” that is shared with select employers of who the chamber recommends they hire for events.
We are concerned because we are a new business and it was shared by existing vendors that joining the chamber helps. A conference call is typically setup between a current food vendor, Economic and Community Development Director Chris Jackson, Mayor Butts and representatives from Hollywood Park as a way to boost the value of joining the chamber to get business and possible placement at SoFi Stadium.
We previously read how the chambers Executive Director Halimah Ginyard signed herself up with L.A. County as 2UrbanGirls and Inglewood Today Newspaper. Two entities she has zero ties to. If she is committing this type of unethical behavior of two local businesses, will she do the same to us.
The chamber is also hounding our friends, to renew their membership, who are also hesitant because Ginyard is attempting to pass herself off as other peoples business.
Please look into this.
Not falling for the okie doke
