Dear 2UrbanGirls:
I wanted to thank you profusely for using your platform as a beacon of truth for a community that is routinely ignored.
With that being said the purpose of this letter is express my concern of that and those of my fellow residents whom reside here in the City of Inglewood and the surrounding communities.
I mean where’s the leadership, in particular in my City , the ” Beautiful City of Inglewood ” as Halimah Ginyard (Executive Director of the Inglewood Chamber of Commerce described our City, while expressing support for another multibillion dollar stadium, while ignoring an alarming and crippling pandemic that has quietly wreaked havoc on our City .
I mean you would think 71 dead would would warrant some type of words of condolences to the extended members of loved ones, but no not a peep nor a word from the Mayor or Council, instead this Mayor and Council continues to operate business as usual serving the will of their billionaire donors and the fragile ego of this Mayor.
2UrbanGirls I guess what I’m saying is are Inglewood residents being purposely ignored? I sense no leadership from not only our City Council, but also are State Legislators.
Where is State Senator Steve Bradford?
Where is State assembly woman Autumn Burke ?
Outside of food giveaways (not sponsored by this council) and politically correct positioning to appease the masses, when can we expect real policy and legislation to address the ill effects of a virus that has the potential to do irreversible damage to the black and brown community because something is very disturbing about “celebrating” building a multi-billion dollar basketball arena when poor black and brown people are dying unnoticed by local leaders.
Maybe it just me but something doesn’t sit right with this .

I totally agree. Why is it every other city is being waived for street parking. For those who has lost there jobs, home with children, or self quarantine.
City of Inglewood continues to ticket cars. When they know more cars would be parked due to pandemic. I have not gotten a response from council at all regarding this situation.
So sad.
It is a shame because as a small business woman and a self employed who has been hit hard during this pandemic, i was looking forward to get help from my city council just as i see others getting. I have been a resident and business owner in Inglewood for 4 years. As a licensed massage therapist in Inglewood, I cant do business because of the pandemic but our Inglewood leadership has totally and woefully failed its residents. It is a real shame.
massage therapy is prohibited in the city of inglewood. how are you able to operate?
This is a shame. Our political leaders are letting us down on every level. They have become mercenaries like the president and only pursue what is good for their personal and political benefit.
Leadership in Inglewood? They are all political opportunists who ignore us the residents. The City Council, Butts, Bradford, Burke and Gloria Gray. Vote them out!
