LA County Metro Construction Committee Chair Janice Hahn has called for an audit of vendor payments related to the Crenshaw/LAX rail line project.
During the Construction Committee meeting held on Thursday, June 18th, representatives from Neal Electric outlined their complaints with Walsh/Shea who serves as the primary contractor on the project.
Those complaints are also detailed in a Letter to the Editor to 2UrbanGirls.
During closed session Hahn inquired of Metro when the last audit was performed. Metro representatives replied “somewhere around 2012”.
Neal Electric has made explosives claims, that Metro is neither enforcing nor monitoring payments to Walsh/Shea as outlined in the contract. Payments are being disbursed to Walsh/Shea without proper documentation from Neal Electric.
No date was given as to when the audit would commence.
