Letter to the Editor: Ask the Compton Unified School Board to not displace children

Dear 2UrbanGirls,

We need your help.  Because of the construction at Compton High School many families are schedule to be displaced at Alondra and Acacia.  Board President Micah Ali wrote passionately to the city council on behalf of children as it related to smoking.  Is he concerned about putting kids on the street?  We know he himself is a landlord who receives compensation through the city’s Section 8 program which means he makes money from the same taxpayers the district wants to put on the street.

There is a statewide housing shortage and we will have nowhere to go.  Please help us spread the word.
