Dear 2UrbanGirls,
Is the city of Inglewood going to go bankrupt? Normally, April is when the city provides mid-year budget numbers and we are closed until the end of the month.
City employees are concerned because our contracts are up for negotiation this year and we had to forego annual raises in 2015-2016 negotiations because of fiscal uncertainty.
Mayor Butts assured us that with the stadium scheduled to open this year, we would see raises. Now the stadium is delayed for the second time. He went on KJLH a few weeks ago and said the city would lose $20 million because of COVID-19.
Our 2019-2020 budget showed a surplus of less than $100,000. That was before coronavirus. We are headed right back to where we started before Butts took office.
Mayor Butts likes to chastise our city treasurer, when she actually speaks on the fiscal issues haunting the city and now is when we need to hear from her the most. And where is Councilman George Dotson?

Impropriety and incompetence all around. Why do the residents of Inglewood tolerate James Butts and his team?
The City always is on the precipice with this disastrous council. The article fails to mention what we are paying in legal fees, settlements, all the things that have brought on by the five fatsos.
