Inglewood Mayor James Butts sent out a late night email this evening announcing the passing of long time Parks and Recreation Commissioner Willie Agee due to contracting the deadly COVID-19 virus while being treated for lung cancer.
Agee is known for being at the weekly city council meetings proclaiming he “lives in the beautiful city of Inglewood”.
A long time resident of the 4th District, Agee moved to Inglewood from Alabama and was a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corps. Â The playhouse at Centinela Park was renamed in his honor. Â Agee was 90.
