Is the SoFi Stadium grand opening in jeopardy? Inglewood residents were notified of a crane collapsing at the stadium site and construction workers have reached out to 2UrbanGirls, on condition of anonymity, with details on what happened.
“We are under a LOT of pressure to get this thing opened on time. We were recently authorized to work on Sundays to ensure the opening. Because the contractor (Turner-Hunt) will face steep daily fines, if not opened on time, we fear the crane was overloaded, which led to the collapse.”
Notes from the inside
When you pass by the stadium you see a shell of the stadium, and a soon to be built structure facing the Arbor Vitae entrance.
The construction company is racing against the clock to open on time for the Taylor Swift concert, in July, and the start of the 2020-2021 NFL season in August.
Are the construction workers safety in jeopardy to meet this deadline? Are city inspectors ensuring the site is safe?
