Compton City Attorney Damon Brown is proposing an ordinance that will ban e-cigarettes in the city of Compton. Brown gave an oral presentation at this week’s city council meeting declaring he will return with an ordinance for the councils approval.

The “fantastic four” consisting of Mayor Aja Brown and Councilwomen Michelle Chambers, Tana McCoy and Emma Sharif, amended the city budget to add/remove certain positions from the already passed FY 2019-2020 budget. Citing “errors” their vote made corrections. Councilman Isaac Galvan was not in attendance.
Residents and this author continue to voice concerns over the viewing of the city council meetings on the city’s website. The audio is horrible, with a tremendous amount of feedback, which makes it nearly impossible to hear.
2UrbanGirls reached out to Councilwoman Emma Sharif on alternatives for us to view the meeting from either the comfort of our home, or while driving home from work.
“I will speak with the City Manager (Craig Cornwell) about broadcasting the meeting live on Facebook.”
Councilwoman Emma Sharif
We shared with Sharif that the city of Inglewood broadcasts city council meetings live, every Tuesday afternoon, and the video is then uploaded to the city’s YouTube page. The audio and sound quality is impeccable.
