Letter to the Editor: Overtime Abuse Continues in Lennox School District

Lennox School District (LSD) parents continue to speak out against overtime abuse allegations that continue to be revealed by local media. David Rosenfeld, with the Daily Breeze, reported how former LSD Superintendent Kent Taylor lavished overtime on the districts former Public Information Officer and claims continue to be levied on Business Officer Victor Herrera.

Hello just wanted to share this and see if you could post it. Here is Victor Herrera’s car seen today late at the district office. Still racking in overtime. While other employees are faced with furloughs, people being laid off, the business manager whom supposedly is fixing the problem, is continuing to fill his pockets with overtime time at the expense of classified employees. Employees are being hit with higher health care costs but Herrera and his two ally board members continue to take from the district. Interim superintendent Nicassio Salernos contract pays him $24,000 per month on a part-time basis. Last night the board approved the interim Chief business Officer contract even though he has been working in the district for over a month. Is the district really is bad shape or are they moving the numbers to hide other problems. Are they lying to LACOE to get additional loans and line their pockets even more?

    Family members in the Lennox school district and Centinela valley high school district have been controlling who gets hired. many people can’t speak, read, or write english. yet they score the highest marks on tests when hired. when CVUHSD has training each school year. all staff is given all answers to tests. when a person was fired from CVUHSD the simply move over to lennox. some employees need no training or degree to advance as to where some groups don’t

    Victor Herrera’s sister and brother in law also work in Lennox School District he is definitely taking advantage.
