They’ve studied the plays for weeks. Councilmen Alex Padilla, George Dotson, Ralph Franklin and Eloy Morales knew where to line up. On game day, Morales was a “no show”. When Mayor James Butts came to the line of scrimmage, he was forced to call an audible.

The council seemed to fumble over themselves as they prepared to approve depleting city reserves, by $3.75 million, to fund a home buyer assistance program, that saw a city employee land in the coveted #1 spot.
According to the staff report, the city is waiting for approval from the Department of Finance (DOF), to use Redevelopment Bond Funds, to fund the program. The city may not be sure they will receive the funds or be allowed to inject them back into the reserves, prompting this half cocked action to revamp the mayor’s public persona.

In order to bring more clarity to this article, 2UrbanGirls is actively seeking the previous occupant of the home.
She was able to rent from IHA despite publicly calling the mayor “satan” and regurgitating disturbing allegations made against Mayor Butts by a family member, during public comment at city council meetings.
Can any of our readers get in touch with Ethel Austin and have her call 2UrbanGirls please?
