A three Carson city council member voting block continues to deny residents access to council meetings related to the 2019-2020 city budget.
Councilmembers Lula Davis-Holmes, Jim Dear and Cedric Hicks continue to call special meetings, to vote on matters, in what appears to be a concerted effort to keep Carson residents in the dark.
The city council have held 16 special meetings ALL beginning at 10:00AM while residents are at work.
Mayor Albert Robles is unable to attend the meetings, as he is at work like the majority of Carson residents and Councilman Hicks continues to abstain due to conflict of interest with CSUDH giving his daughter a scholarship.
2UrbanGirls previously reported on the city’s desire to remove passport services from City Clerk Donesia Gause-Aldana’s office and instead send those looking for a passport to CSUDH.

During today’s special meeting, the vote was passed 2-1 to remove passport services with Councilman Jawane Hilton being the lone dissenting vote.
Former Councilwoman Vera Dewitt also chided the current council’s actions of keeping residents from attending these special meetings.
Is this what Carson residents expected by placing Jim Dear back on the city council dais?
