Are Compton residents truly seeking “change” or will they allow the city’s seniors to continue to rule the city? One resident expresses their thoughts on the upcoming June 4th runoffs.
Its always been said to be involved in Compton Politics is like playing a contact sport and this election cycle is no different. Its great to see so many community members activated and willing participate in the election process. Just lets not be blind sighted by the motives of the loudest voices that seem so willing to lead us towards the finish line. James Hayes brags about his experience running for city council at the young age of 24 and the management of numerous campaigns since. James why can’t you win your own race? Why did you resign from a city commission before running for Mayor in 2017? Is it that you haven’t lived in the Compton since your 30’s and you knew your residency would become a factor or a “hit piece” once you filed to run? Yeah, we know you’ve been a registered voter in the city your entire life. I’m sure a lot of people living out the city are using their parents address as their permanent mailing address and registered voting location, right HubCity Dre? However, Compton wasn’t good enough to raise your family. Let’s not get on your strong support for former councilman of the 4th district Dr. Jones who sat at the end of the council dias and said nothing for 8 years. You remained quite, all to keep that commission seat. Micheal Hill: FYI no one is reading your 6 page comments on every post. Ptah Ankh Em Maat no where but Compton can you talk so much crap about your employer (City of Compton) in public and still have a job. HubCity Dre, Aja has been promising you a chance to run Channel 36 since her first win, I don’t think its going to happen Compton Watch Dog. Emma will be fine, its great to see she has a flare. Everyone should be encouraging Justin for his ambition instead of stalking him and his girlfriend. You hear that James Hayes? GIRL FRIEND! The devil is in the details, Michelle Chambers has NEVER represented Compton on a Federal, State or City level. Chamber has always been staff…. not the elected official that represented Compton. Like former Mayor Perrodin and Bradley have said so many times. Compton is a big small community. Everyone knows each other somehow, be it from family, school or church …. who is Michelle Chambers outside of the satellite legislative office inside city hall pushing paper? Lastly, everyone wants to point the finger at the voting block on the city council. If I remember correctly from every TV interview, magazine article and commercial Mayor Brown gave the impression that the buck stopped with her; this not Los Angeles with a strong Mayor position. The Mayor alienated herself and now all of sudden she’s just one vote and wants help. The mayor created this narrative when it convenience her, now instead of creating a block of her own, she’s counting on the us give her one. While folks are in this group arguing and passing judgment real activist are knocking on doors and talking to not just residents in Compton, but those that actually vote. No time for the back and forth in this group.
Fed up with Compton’s bullshit
