A concerned Lennox resident contacted 2UrbanGirls with some interesting news about Lennox School District Superintendent Kent Taylor. Apparently Taylor resigned yesterday. 2UrbanGirls contacted Lennox School District and they confirmed they are preparing to meet to discuss Taylor’s resignation. Colton Unified School Board refused to comment on his status as their school board member.
As the LA Times has begun exposing charter schools, and how financially troubled school districts benefit from their approval, 2UrbanGirls doubled back on an article regarding Lennox.
The district created a “unique” partnership with Catholic schools and created the Lennox Virtual Academy. Lennox stood to reap millions of dollars from the arrangement.
Three catholic schools signed on with Lennox. Resurrection Academy in Fontana, St. Joseph’s in Hawthorne and St. John’s Chrysostom in Inglewood. St. John’s is heavily supported by Inglewood Councilman Alex Padilla, who mysteriously was pictured at a groundbreaking ceremony in Lennox. A city he does not have any control over. Was Padilla involved in connecting St. Johns with Lennox? What other reason would he be at a groundbreaking at a school district he doesn’t sit on the board of?

Is Taylor’s resignation attached to this “unique” arrangement and will an Inglewood councilman go down with him?
