Did former State Assemblymember Sebastian Ridley-Thomas really think he could be labeled a sexual harasser and get a contract where children are involved? Apparently he did but the Sacramento Bee reported Los Angeles Unified School District LAUSD) wised up and voided the contract his company, Millennial Advisors, was due to receive as a subcontractor of Darryl Lucien, Managing Partner of Lucien Partners. From the sound of Lucien, the contract didn’t end the day the Assembly report became public.
Darryl Lucien is the former Chief of Staff of Ridley-Thomas and has received contracts with the Los Angeles Police Protective League (LAPPL) to boost messaging and advocacy and Bulletin Displays who promotes political candidates.
“I’m excited about the work Lucien Partners has been doing on behalf of Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). In 15 hours (starting at 6pm the night before) Lucien Partners was able to coordinate an emergency meeting with 24 members of the Los Angeles County legislative delegation, the governor’s staff, and later facilitate conversations with the Governor.” said Lucien on his LinkedIn page two weeks ago.
It is noted that Sebastian’s father, Mark Ridley-Thomas was the point man to LA County for Governor Gavin Newsom’s campaign for Governor and most likely was involved in the LA County delegation Lucien is referencing.
From the Sacramento Bee:
Former Assemblyman Sebastian Ridley-Thomas has already lost his first lobbying client.
Ridley-Thomas’ lobbying firm Millennial Advisors reported the former lawmaker would lobby on behalf of the Los Angeles Unified School District, according to a lobbying disclosure firm filed earlier this month.
In response to questions from The Sacramento Bee, the district confirmed that it had a four-week contract with a lobbying firm that employed Ridley-Thomas. But the district says it terminated the contract the day the state Assembly announced Ridley-Thomas violated its sexual misconduct policy.
The LA Sentinel published an article titled Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas and labor leader Laphonza Butler, convene meeting with L.A. Black leaders to Advise Gov. on State Policies which featured Sebastian Ridley-Thomas being part of those leaders. Perhaps Governor Newsom doesn’t have issues with a sexual harasser promoting his polices alongside his father.
The LA Times reported that many high-level staffers, of lawmakers in Sacramento, say they would advise legislators not to meet with the younger Ridley-Thomas due to “optics”.
Stick a fork in Sebastian because he is DONE!
