
In June 2016 former LAX Assistant Police Chief Brian A. Walker resigned during a corruption probe involving tax evasion and lying to the FBI. Inglewood Mayor James Butts must not have any qualms about this man leading a newly created department despite his pleading guilty.

The city of Inglewood recently created an Office of Emergency Services, which lists Walker as its manager. Another former police officer, Emory Ward as Public Safety Supervisor. It is not known what other “perks” they receive as being a close ally to Mayor Butts.

According to federal prosecutors, Walker did not report income from his work with At Close Range Inc., a Torrance security company partly owned by former port police chief Ron Boyd.
Boyd pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI during a probe of his financial dealings, committing tax evasion and failing to file complete income taxes for 2011.
The Rancho Cucamonga resident, 52, was charged with a misdemeanor count of filing a false tax return in 2012 after federal prosecutors began investigating Ronald Boyd, who oversaw the seaport’s police agency. Walker, who pleaded guilty.
Why would Mayor Butts allow this kind of employee to receive Inglewood taxpayer funds? Where is your integrity Mayor Butts?
