Councilwoman Janna Zurita is against the ropes. She has managed to get her sister, Satra Zurita a job over at Dollarhide Senior Center and is now using her position to move the already approved Compton Candidates Forum from City Council Chambers to Dollarhide. Dr. Lestean Johnson, President of the Compton Chamber of Commerce, will still host the forum at the new location.

COMPTON CHAMBER COMMERCE The Compton Chamber of Commerce have historically held the Candidate’s Forums for Participants vying for seats in City Elections in the Council Chambers. The purpose of utilizing the Council Chambers is for the voting Senior Community; the Disabled; and those voting members who lack transportation to be allowed the opportunity to view the Candidate Forum from their homes on Channel 36; and for ” live stream” capabilities; ensuring the above listed voters know the Candidates vying for seats in the City.
On February 12th, the Council voted 3-2 to allow the use of the Council Chambers. All material were printed; notices were sent to the Candidates and the community at large; and flyers were placed throughout the community.On Tuesday, February 26th, (Two weeks before the Candidate’s Forum); Councilperson in District 3 overturned her vote; and moved the Venue to Dollarhide Community Center.
All materials, flyers, etc., are in the process of being re-printed for distribution.
The Compton Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the Candidate Forum on Saturday,March 16, 2019 beginning at 11 AM; however, the new Venue is Dollarhide Community Center located at 301 N. Tamarind Ave., Compton, CA, 90220.
District 4 Candidate Forum: 11AM to 12:30 PM.
District 1 Candidate Forum: 12:45PM to 3:30 PM.
The Candidate Forum will be moderated by Judge Kelvin D. Filer.

The parking is better at Dollarhide I am glad its moved to the new venue. Closer walking distance for elderly and disabled people and senior to get to hear the candidates
