2018 ended with Inglewood Airport Area Chamber of Commerce (IAACC) Executive Vice-President Sam Pena stepping down from his post. Deputy Director Erick Holly was promptly promoted back to the position the former board removed him from due to allegations of him misappropriating IAACC funds. Holly is also the alleged President of the Inglewood NAACP (who we have yet to see support issues facing people of color in the city).
Holly is a regular cheerleader of Inglewood Mayor Butts and is present at the weekly council meetings to sing the councils praises. Long time residents recall Holly previously working at an Inglewood auto mechanic shop providing quotes on repairs.
Holly will be a featured speaker at Elevate Now, an inaugural networking event that will take place this June in West Palm Beach, Florida.
New IAACC Board Members include: Chamberlin Duru (LAX Community Relations), Ricardo Rosales (Homelight Family Living), Wayne Spencer (Spencer for Hire), Dexter Hall (AFLAC), Dawn Harris (Republic Services), John Harriel, Jr (Big John Kares), Frederick Howard (Keller Williams), Jamilla Veasley (Kaiser Permanente) and Tracy Johnson-Shields (Mega Block Party Events).
AirBnB has joined IAACC, as a sign they are working to become a legal operating entity in the city. This should bring relief to the many property owners, with listings on AirBnb, who receive numerous code violations from the city’s Code Enforcement department for running an illegal business out of their home.
