Sole Brothers CEO and Co-Founder Travon Muhammad shared with 2UrbanGirls he was asked to work with Jack and Jill after a parent reached out on social media seeking shoes for her children.
Sole Brothers is a registered non-profit organization who collects gently worn shoes to donate to those in need. Sole Brothers also works with students from Inglewood and Los Angeles in the areas of team building and leadership through their travel basketball program for youth aged 11-18.
Muhammad was tagged in the post and he was connected with Jack and Jill who was already busy planning for their annual shoe drive.
“Sole Brothers was happy to participate in ensuring Inglewood children were prepared for school,” said Muhammad. “I also had the opportunity to speak with (Inglewood Mayoral candidate) Brandon Meyers who also shares a passion for Inglewood children.”
The event collected enough shoes to outfit nearly 50 Inglewood children.
