Barbara Calhoun, a candidate for Compton College Trustee Area #2, has won the support and endorsement of Democratic Party as well as three Compton College unions.

To garner such support, 60% of available votes by delegates must be captured. Barbara Calhoun won the vote of the day and then was challenged by the appointed incumbent, Nicole Jones, attempting to have Barbara’s vote made invalid but she failed.
Listen to end of this short youtube video at the 2:30 mark to hear Holly Schumacher, the head of one of the unions at Compton College, speak passionately at the voting session on behalf of Barbara Calhoun.
Remember, Nicole Jones was supposed to have been appointed temporarily for 11 months and has never been elected to office by a single vote from anyone. Yet, through trustee board maneuvers, Ms. Jones has been representing Compton for the last two years having never met or spoken to a single college activist or held a community meeting to hear our thoughts on the college.
The unions are asking your support in voting out the incumbent board and getting trustees who lead, speak up, represent, and do not follow.
Wake Up, Compton!
