2UrbanGirls has confirmed that Hawthorne Councilwoman Angie Reyes-English has an open complaint against her that is being investigated by the LA County District Attorney’s office. It is unknown if the complaint is in relation to the recent firing of former Finance Director Director Rickey Manbahal, who confessed to lying about the city’s financial condition, at the behest of Goodson, and Reyes-English continued her support of him thereafter.

Reyes-English annual Statement of Economic Interest shows that former City Manager Mike Goodson not only gave Manbahal $25k of taxpayers money (unapproved) Reyes-English received a gift card from Goodson that he “left on her desk” in December but she didn’t take ownership until the following month.

DA spokesperson Greg Risling had no comment on the nature of the allegations levied against Reyes-English.
