Long time Inglewood Bishop takes sabbatical

“Today is a day of celebration,” exclaimed Bishop Kenneth C. Ulmer.  2UrbanGirls was fortunate to be in attendance at Faithful Central Bible Church’s (FCBC) morning Easter service where Bishop Ulmer presided over a full congregation.  It has since been revealed that today was the Bishop’s last sermon as he is going on sabbatical for an unknown specified period of time.  This also comes at a time where it appears the once cozy relationship between the Inglewood city council and the church is thawing.  This is no April Fool’s joke.  [adsenseyu2]

Some FCBC members told 2UrbanGirls they were notified about the Bishop’s departure in March although other members have disputed that timeframe and state Ulmer told the congregation “months ago”.  Citing the need for rest, it is unknown when he will return.

Angry FCBC members have told 2UrbanGirls his sabbatical is only for three months and demanded we clear this up.

During the 8:30 am Easter services he asked congregants to keep Sacramento in prayer as he had just returned from working with church leaders to squash protests in the wake of the murder of Stephon Clark at the hands of the Sacramento Police Department.

2UrbanGirls is led to believe the relationship between the powerful church and the city is deteriorating due to a monthly newspaper housed in offices located inside the church recently republished portions of our article on the proposed Clippers arena and an executive member of the church has filed a personal claim against the city which they are set to deny during tomorrow’s regularly scheduled city council meeting.

2UrbanGirls looks forward to Bishop Ulmer returning to the FCBC family.

2UrbanGirls has received an unusual amount of comments from FCBC members denouncing this article.  The article has been updated to include their comments objecting to the timeframe of when Ulmer allegedly notified the members and when he will return.  2UrbanGirls apologizes for any inconvenience in regards to this portion of our article.  We have also corrected the spelling of Bishop’s last name.

As for our beliefs of the relationship between the church and city, 2UrbanGirls stands by our opinion that the relationship has soured.
