Black Los Angeles woke up today to a biased article written about a prominent community academic and community activist. With the explosion of key male figures being charged with some form of sexual misconduct in the workplace, old allegations have resurfaced on the newly hired Executive Director (ED) of the Merv Dymally African American Political & Economic Institute housed at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH). 2UrbanGirls spoke with Dr. Lynn V. Dymally, daughter of the late Rep. Dymally, on her unwavering support for Dr. Anthony Samad. CSUDH has publicly pledged their support of Dr. Samad too.

“I did my investigation about the allegations and based on my personal judgement, I believe Dr. Samad was the best selection made by the University,” said Lynn Dymally.
2UrbanGirls asked Dr. Dymally if her support was a contradiction of her allegations leveled at the current Mayor of Carson Albert Robles. We were quickly schooled on the difference between Assault v Harrassment.
“I allege sexual ASSAULT by Carson Mayor Albert Robles. Dr. Samad’s victim alleges verbal sexual harassment. BIG distinction! I allege physical assault to my body. Dr. Samad’s accuser alleges dirty talk,” said Dymally.
CSUDH acknowledged receiving a letter about Dr. Samad from the Carson branch of the NAACP. The school responded by stating they performed their own investigation that didn’t substantiate removing him from the position. The school went further to say Dr. Samad will be judged by his actions during his employment.
The article written by Sandy Mazza, over at the Daily Breeze, failed to mention one of her sources, calling for Dr. Samad to be removed, has also had sexual misconduct allegations leveled against them. The same source was recently removed from a prominent position in the community due to recent allegations alleged by his wife. They have since publicly discussed their being in counseling to resolve these issues.
