City of Compton residents sent a STRONG message to the public. They have no desire to be involved in local government, despite 44,911 of them being registered voters in the city of nearly 100,000 residents. Only 3,520 people turned up at the polls. 5,597 ballots have been counted resulting in a 12.4% voter turnout. City Clerk Alita Godwin has yet to post the unofficial results but has surprised 2 Urban Girls by listing the candidates form 460’s on the city website.

In addition to those 1600 uncounted ballots, there are questions as to how 199 ballots ended up in a red box when only 93 voters voted at that precinct. A formal investigation is in order, and I would not be surprised if a recount is demanded.
