City of Compton residents are highly pissed off about the outrageous amount of money missing under the current City Treasurer. Short of asking Comptonites to vote on a charter amendment removing the position as elected, they are tasked with selecting a new Treasurer on April 18th. 2 Urban Girls reached a former elected official, who worked alongside Doug Sanders, who doesn’t think highly of Doug’s lack of education, lack of being in the treasurer’s office on a full-time basis and despises finding out nearly $4 million is missing from city coffers. Sanders has left the field wide open for a new Treasurer.

After more than 20 years of working in Corporate America as an Accountant for such Companies as 20th Century Fox, Virgin Entertainment Group and Welk Music Group, I have decided to follow my father Charles Davis, the former Compton City Clerk for more than 30 years into public service by serving the citizens of the City of Compton as your City Treasurer.
I attended Bursch Elementary School and Compton High School. I am a graduate of California State University Dominguez Hills with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Accounting.
I will bring good Accounting practices to the office of the City Treasurer, to insure that the citizen’s money is accounted for. I will conduct my own audits and post to my offices city website a report monthly on how much money is received by the city from all sources. This will be done in addition to a monthly report to be received and filed by the City Council.
My commitment to the citizens of Compton, as City Treasurer is to be accountable by Implementing the necessary checks and balances in order to prevent potential theft. This shall be done through daily dual control audits of cash receipts, monthly reconciliation of bank statements to the deposits made, and installing drop boxes at each terminal
The citizens of Compton deserve and need a City Treasurer who is honest, has integrity, and willing to work every day for them. I am ready and prepared to serve.
Please Vote Jenise Davis for Compton City Treasure
Thank You
Jenise Davis
