Rick Meyer x77020 –– – Captain Cecil Rhambo of the LA county Sheriff’s Department’s Compton Station announces a 100,000 grant from the California State Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. In the background are L to R ABC Supervising Investigator Robin Crabb and Lumped Garcia, ABC Deputy Division Chief. QC on the names.

There’s a new Sheriff in town.  Former sheriff’s deputy Cecil Rhambo was selected as the latest city manager and has already got to work.  Allegedly to the displeasure of the mayor and city council.

[adsenseyu2]

City Clerk Alita Godwin confirmed to 2 Urban Girls that Rhambo was questioning where the proceeds and records are from the city apparel her office sells.  Telling Rhambo they have been selling since the days of Eric Perrodin’s administration, there are nearly ten years of missing receipts.

Rhambo also paid the Finance department a visit.  Employees shared the mayor and council have passed erroneous budgets for years.

The last stop was a discussion with Mayor Aja Brown concerning the marijuana ordinance.  This discussion has led to rumors that Rhambo could be removed as city manager.  If so, the city would be on the hook for nearly $200k.

Last week, while on the Metrolink, this author chatted with deputies performing fare checks and asked their thoughts on the former Captain.

“We hear he goes strictly by the book.” That was confirmed during the investigation and convictions of multiple deputies, including his friend Paul Tanaka, where Rhambo’s name was neither mentioned nor uttered as an accomplice.

Isn’t this what Compton needs in a city manager?

I have to agree with Joyce Kelly. Because of Cecil Rhambo’s law enforcement background, I have no doubts that he will dig and find the dirt and will help Compton get back on track. He may not have the experience everyone was looking for, but he knows Compton. He was raised in Compton and was Captain when LASD replace Compton PD in 2000. It was also disclosed during tonight’s council meeting that the assistant treasurer had been stealing since at least 2012 and possible longer. The latest estimate is that he pocketed $3 million of Compton’s taxpayer dollars. What happened to policies and procedures? I have been saying for years, Compton needs more ENFORCEMENT in all areas. The results of our April 18th. election should be interesting.

This is what I heard about Rhambo. I also saw it with his work habits while assisting Lee Baca. Those who know him knows he’s sincere. I also know he knows and respects seniors! Yeah, more understanding and help for me and my struggle to get respect for the people who built Compton!
HE’S GOING NOWHERE! If anything, Aja Brown is the one getting STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON!
