As a student attending St. Michael’s High School, I passed the Power of Love Ministry church daily on my way to school. Bishop Turner is well known in the community for always giving back to the community. He would hold his Doers Convention at LA Southwest College and would annually block off Manchester Blvd., directly in front of his church, to give away school supplies and have health screenings for the community. As the scandal began to unfold, during the lead up to the Sheriff’s election of 2014, Bishop Turner got caught in the middle.

In November 2013 a package containing marijuana, was mailed to a local Sheriff’s station, addressed to Bishop Turner. This led to the discovery that a medical dispensary existed at a property owned by Bishop’s church.

He would be forced out of his job as the right hand clergymen to Sheriff Lee Baca and hasn’t been heard from since.
Until now.
A recent Facebook post revealed he will be holding his Community Day event, next Saturday, January 14th on Manchester Blvd.
I for one am happy to see Bishop Turner back in the community. He baptized my son.
