Insiders say Carson council man Jawane Hilton is seething over his friend Brandi Murdock running for city council.
Murdock was recently honored at the Making a Difference 2016 She Smiles Gala receiving the Humanitarian Award for her efforts as Commissioner of Cultural Affairs in the city of Carson. By profession she works in real estate. She is a Carson native and mother of two.
“I am eager to represent my community and enhance the quality of life of Carson residents,” said Murdock.
After participating in the 64th Assembly District Recommending Committee’s interview, Murdock received two votes, Hilton received four and Cedric Hicks received five, to walk away with the committee’s recommendation. The Central Committee is scheduled to vote September 19.
After having her previous campaign manager leave her employ, Murdock managed to add former Sen. Rod Wright to #TeamMurdock as her campaign manager.
In other news, now that the city has agreed to consolidate their elections, with November elections, a lawsuit has been filed against the city and City Clerk Donesia Gause, for accepting papers after the filing deadline. The county recorders office was open Friday and Carson city hall was not. Candidates were still allowed to turn in papers once city hall opened the following Monday, which residents say shouldn’t have occurred since the county is running the election and was open.
