The Joint Legislative Audit Committee held a hearing yesterday to hear requests to perform audits on four agenda items. Mike Gipson (D-Carson) is the committee’s chair. The audits requested were for Inglewood Unified School District (IUSD), the Irvine City Council, the California High Speed Rail and California School Districts Mental Health Funds. Only two passed unanimously.[adsenseyu2]
The request to audit IUSD was introduced a second time by Senator Isadore Hall (D-Compton) although the last time he was seen in Inglewood was when he moved his offices down to San Pedro.

Senator Hall insists the audits are to provide accountability for how the taxpayers funds are being spent while under receivership with the CA Department of Education. Dr. Don Brann expects IUSD to be in the black by this summer.
The irony is when the black board members blew through Inglewood taxpayers money, no one asked for a legislative audit. We still don’t know how Measure K was spent or if any remains. Now that the white men are running the district, legislators want accountability? Unbelievable.
The audit request of Mental Health funds also passed unanimously.
